LODA – Stephen R. Coe, 54, of Loda died at 10:56 a.m. Monday (Jan. 14, 2013) at the Gibson Area Hospital, Gibson City.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton, with the Rev. Steve Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Loda.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at the funeral home.
Steve was born May 9, 1958, at Gibson City, the son of Harold and Verneta Walker Coe. He married Elsie Galster.
Survivors include his father, Ed Havener of Loda; one son, Jeff (April) Coe of Loda; one daughter, Brenda (Tim) Grice of Loda; five grandchildren, Faith, Ariana, Joshua, Maverick and Kiley Coe; three stepbrothers, Darwin (Sue) Brown of Wisconsin, Rick Brown of Rantoul and Roy Havener of Gibson City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and one son, Joshua.
Steve graduated from Paxton High School in 1976. He spent his entire life farming in the Loda area. He enjoyed collecting toy tractors, coins and stamps, watching westerns and taking care of his livestock and dogs.
