INDIANOLA – Donald Eugene Crowe, 90, of Indianola passed away at 9:55 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 15, 2013) at his home with his whole loving family at his side.
Donald was born April 24, 1922, in Chrisman to Edgar and Florence Olson Crowe. He married Patricia Ann Sexton on Dec. 2, 1951, in Paris, Ill. She survives. They were married 61 years.
Also surviving are two daughters and their husbands, who were also like sons to him, Kathy (Kevin) Suchaczewski of Chrisman and Linda (Bruce) Darr of Fairmount; four grandchildren, Kimberly (Harley) Fudge of Dennison, Kristopher (Crystal) Suchaczewski of Danville, Derek (Lacee) Darr of Catlin and Amanda Darr of Fairmount; and five great-grandchildren, Garrett, Kaleb, and Megan Suchaczewski, and Haley and Taylyr Fudge. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Trenton Darr, and a great-grandson, Dylan Suchaczewski.
Donald attended Chrisman schools and began farming at a very early age and has continued to be involved with his son-in-law, Kevin, in the farming decisions over the past 37 years.
He was always proud of his cars and machinery and always wanted them kept clean and shining.
Donald loved mowing his yard and did so through this past summer. He enjoyed Indy and NASCAR racing and watching Illini basketball games.
Don loved his wife, Patricia; daughters Kathy and Linda; and their families. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren would always bring a smile to his face.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Robison Chapel, Catlin, with Charlie Graul and Darren Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Chrisman.
