FISHER – John E. Dubson, 98, of Fisher passed away on the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at the Champaign County Nursing Home, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 E. Grove Ave., Rantoul. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
There will be a visitation for one hour prior to the service at Lux Memorial Chapel.
John was born March 29, 1914, in Lick Creek, a son of John and Ida (Fosnaugh) Dubson. He married Alma Belcher on Nov. 23, 1938, in Jackson, Mo. She preceded him in death on March 12, 1992.
He is survived by a son, Charles (Karen) Dubson of Tolono; two daughters, Charlotte Nelson of Fisher and Judy (John) Southfield of Oneida, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Ronnie, LeRoy, Shelly, Leah and Derek, and several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews (two special nephews, Roger Dubson and Kenny Grammer and their families).
He was preceded in death by three brothers and eight sisters.
John was co-founder of the First Baptist Church of Fisher, where he often filled in as the minister. He loved to garden and he did all of his own construction.
