ATWOOD – Kenneth M. Hug, 71, of Atwood passed away at 11:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at the C-U Regional Rehab Center of Savoy.
Ken was a Vietnam Army veteran and retired from Natural Gas Pipeline Company of Hammond, Ill.
Per Ken's request, graveside services with military rites will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, in the Arthur Cemetery, Arthur, with Dr. Lanny Faulkner officiating. Arrangements are by Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Atwood.
Ken was born May 26, 1941, in Hermann, Mo., the son of Orlando M. and Prietta Steele Hug. He was a member of the Atwood First Baptist Church and the James Reeder American Legion Post of Atwood. He married Betty Moody on Dec. 28, 1963.
Surviving are his wife; one son, David (Sandra) Hug; and one granddaughter, Megan Hug, all of Atwood; and two sisters, Vicky (David) Hastings of Bella Vista, Ark., and Paula (Bill) Case of Hewitt, Texas.
The family suggests in lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a donation may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Atwood First Baptist Church.
