CHAMPAIGN – Dorothy C. Taylor, 92, was born to her proud parents, William King and Cynthia Coleman, on Oct. 3, 1920, in St. Louis, Mo. She graduated from Champaign High School and attended Parkland College.
She enjoyed 61 years of blissful matrimony to Oscar Taylor, who preceded her in death in 1989. To this union was born one daughter, Cynthia Aiken.
The final chapter in Dorothy Taylor's life was recorded at 8:55 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 16, 2013) at the Champaign County Nursing Home, Urbana.
She was abundantly blessed with one loving daughter, Cynthia Aiken, of Anchorage, Alaska; two grandsons, James A. Williams Jr. of Anchorage and Harlean Williams of Medford, Ore.; two great-grandchildren, James A Williams III of Anchorage and Brienne Barnes, M.D., of Anchorage; one niece, Linda Mason, of Clinton, Mass.; and two nephews, Henry Mason and Thomas Mason of Clinton, Mass.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, friends may submit to their favorite charity in the name of Dorothy Taylor.
Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Mount Hope Cemetery, 611 Pennsylvania Ave., Champaign, with visitation from 11 a.m. until noon. The Rev. Dr. Shirley E. Melker will officiate.
