SIDNEY – Earl W. Evans, 89, of Sidney passed away at 7:30 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 26, 2013) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Freese Funeral Home, Sidney, with the Rev. Barry West officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Sidney. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Evans was born March 25, 1923, in McLean, Ill., a son to Thomas and Elia Daugherty Evans. He married Anna Daugherty on Dec. 18, 1951, in Towanda. She survives.

Also surviving are her three sons, Steve (Pam) Evans of Philo, Larry (Shirley) Swille of Oracle, Ariz., and Rick (Arlene) Evans of Peoria, Ariz.; four daughters, Jhanettia (Joey) Eaton of McKenzie, Tenn., Julie (Wayne) Klitzing of Peoria, Ariz., Cindy Herrington of Dunlap, Tenn., and Tracy Evans of Urbana; 19 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers, three sisters and his parents.
