THOMASBORO – Patricia Jean Warner, 82, of Thomasboro passed away at 9:30 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 26, 2013) at home.
Pat was born Jan. 16, 1931, in Urbana, a daughter of the late Ralph and Mary (Silver) Reed. She married James F. Warner on Dec. 31, 1954, in El Paso, Texas. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, David C. Warner of Champaign and James T. (Jo) Warner of Rantoul; two grandchildren, Jenna and John Warner of Rantoul; a sister, Barbra (Thomas) Bosch of Villa Grove; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Marjorie Shaw and Mary Beth McMurry.
As a farm girl, she grew up on farms located in Thomasboro and Philo. Pat graduated from Unity High in Tolono in 1950.
She worked at the University of Illinois in the purchasing department.
She was installed in the Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Sorority in May 1954 while attending the UI.
She was a member of The Memory Lane Doll Club.
Pat spent much of her time as a farm wife and homemaker. Pat enjoyed her grandchildren, collecting dolls, sewing and exploring new ideas in cooking. She also enjoyed going to Home Town Buffet with her husband of 58 years, Jim.
Patty enjoyed preparing meals for the farm workers (almost always family). She insisted that anyone working on the farm be treated as family and sit down and eat with all of us.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2. A celebration of life service will follow at 2 p.m. at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 E. Grove Ave., Rantoul. Pastor Putty Putman from the Vineyard Church, Urbana, will officiate. Burial will be in Cottage Grove Cemetery, Philo, at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Country Health Care & Rehab, Gifford.
