RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – Emma Ehmen Buck, 90, of Rancho Mirage, Calif., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Vista Cove Memory Care Center.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Flatville with the Rev. James Lehmann officiating. Burial will be in Beckman Cemetery, Thomasboro. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. prior to the funeral service at the church.

Emma was born Dec. 17, 1922, in rural Rantoul, the daughter of John A. and Justina (Bohlen) Ehmen. She married Robert B. Buck Jr. on June 25, 1943, who preceded her in death in 2008.

She is survived by two children, Robert B. Buck III (Bonnie) of Palm Desert, Calif., and Geraldine B. Cashin of Tallahassee, Fla.; two grandchildren, Diane Cashin West (Mark) of Tallahassee, Fla., and Amanda Leigh Cashin (Peter Choi) of San Francisco, Calif.; two great-grandsons, John William West and Thomas Michael West; and sister, Hazel Huls of Rantoul.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Tina Fruhling of Milford and Esther Johnson of Gifford; and brother, Erwin Ehmen of Thomasboro.

Emma retired after over 40 years from Montgomery Ward in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and was an active member of the Oak Grove Grange. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and playing cards.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Vista Cove Memory Care for the excellent, caring services provided to Emma.

Memorials can be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Flatville.
