Patricia Wigginton

LODA – Patricia A. Wigginton, 82, of Lake Iroquois died at 10 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 7, 2013) at her home.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Loda, with the Rev. Jose Kadukunnel officiating. Burial will follow in Lyman Cemetery, Roberts.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells St., Paxton.

Mrs. Wigginton was born April 8, 1930, in Ashkum, the daughter of Bernard Sr. and Minnie Weber Gray. She married Donald J. Flessner on Sept. 29, 1951. He preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1986. She married Donald J. Wigginton on May 17, 1998, in Chicago. He survives.

Also surviving are five sons, Stephen (Susan) Flessner of Houston, Texas, Jeffrey (Cindy) Flessner of Bloomington, Mark (Diane) Flessner of Naperville, Paul (Sue) Flessner of Seattle, Wash., and John (Cindy) Flessner of Springfield; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and three brothers, Paul (JoAnn) Gray of Cullom, James (Delores) Gray of Kankakee and Jerry Gray of Ashkum.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and three brothers.

Mrs. Wigginton graduated from Notre Dame High School, Bourbonnais, in 1947 and received her nursing degree from Saint Mary's School of Nursing, Kankakee, in 1951. She worked part-time as a Registered Nurse at Gibson Community Hospital during the 1960s. She also worked at the Ford County Nursing Home for 20 years, 15 of which she was director of nursing. Pat lived in Roberts from 1959 until 1998, when she and her husband built their home and moved to Lake Iroquois.

Pat was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Loda. She was elected to two terms on the Ford County Board in the 1990s. Pat enjoyed playing bridge and walking. She was a great entertainer and always loved her family get-togethers.
