URBANA – Eileen Mackey, 95, of Urbana passed away at 9:45 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 7, 2013) at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.
A memorial reception will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory. A memorial service will follow the reception at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. David D'Armond will officiate. Burial will be held at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
Mrs. Mackey was born April 15, 1917, in Henning to parents Leroy and Vera (Fairchild) Mitchell. She married Lawrence G. Mackey on June 15, 1935, in Danville. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1965.
Survivors include sons, Larry Mackey (Janet) of Oakwood and David Mackey (Ros) of Tucson, Ariz., daughters, Marlene D'Armond (David) of Marengo and Dorothy Norman of Urbana, 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. One brother; one sister; one grandson; and son-in-law, Jim Norman, preceded Eileen in death.
Mrs. Mackey was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Urbana and the VFW Auxiliary.
