CHAMPAIGN – John "Bob" Cain, 58, of Champaign died in the comfort of his home at 1:18 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 10, 2013).
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 16, at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St., Champaign. Mass will be held at 1 p.m. at Holy Cross Church, Champaign.
Bob was born in Urbana to Marguerite and Raymond Cain on May 5, 1954. He married Catherina Demeris on July 3, 1982.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his four beautiful daughters, Alexis, Jessica, Christina and Whitney, who all reside in Champaign. He is also survived by his three siblings, Pat (Richard) Kreutzer, Doug (Robin) Cain and Cindy (Pat) Connolly.
Bob was employed by Ameren of Illinois for over 35 years and was a loyal union member of the IBEW Local 151.
He enjoyed being outdoors, especially spending time in the South on the lakes of Tennessee on family vacations. He loved the outdoors, taking pride of his meticulous lawn, being an avid griller, and going boating when he got a chance!
He was a devout Catholic and member of Holy Cross Church. Most importantly, he was a great family man, living with his five females throughout the years; he was the king of his castle (or so he thought)!
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, his family requests that memorial contributions be directed to The MDA-ALS Foundation, 115 N. Neil St., Suite No. 100, Champaign, IL 61820, toward research for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), better known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
