MIAMI, Okla. – Neva Jean (Keilbach) Powell passed away on Feb. 3, 2013, at the Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo. She was 78.
Mrs. Powell was born to Louis and Grace Keilbach on Feb. 1, 1935, in Longview. She grew up in Broadlands.
She married Collins Powell from Cardin, Okla., when he was in the U.S. Air Force stationed at Chanute Air Force Base. They were wed in Champaign on Oct. 31, 1953.
Neva and Collins have lived in Miami, Okla., since he retired in 1996. Preceding Neva in death were her parents, one brother and a son, Terry Powell.
Survivors include one daughter, Teresa Schaubroeck of Clovis, N.M; and three sons, Michael Powell of Marysville, Wash., Daniel Powell of Kirksville, Mo., and Jeffrey Powell of Bonaire, Ga.
She has one granddaughter, Rachel Powell of Perry, Ga.; and grandsons, Randy and Russell Powell, and a great-grandson, Colven Powell, who reside in Utah.
Services are under the direction of Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, Okla.
