VILLA GROVE – Clarence R. "Lee" Closson, 79, of Villa Grove died at 5:04 p.m. Monday (Feb. 18, 2013) at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
There will be a private family service at a later date.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Joines Funeral Home, Illinois 130 South, Villa Grove.
Mr. Closson was born Jan. 1, 1934, in Villa Grove, a son of Earl and Florence (Pruitt) Closson. He married Mary Sue Smith. She died in 2002.
Surviving are one son, Kelly Closson of St. Louis, Mo.; three daughters, Ruth Pedigo of Charleston, Linda Tesman of Urbana and Kim Keefer of Champaign; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Earl Closson of Gulfport, La.
Mr. Closson was preceded in death by his wife, two sons, one daughter, two brothers, one sister and his parents.
Mr. Closson worked for the City of Villa Grove as the water superintendent and later as the superintendent of streets and alleys.
Memorials can be made to an organization of the donor's choice.
