MONTICELLO – Ralph M. Morgan, 84, of Monticello passed away at 2:25 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 20, 2013) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Bement United Methodist Church, 249 N. Piatt St., Bement. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the church. The Rev. Steve Ingram will officiate. Masonic services will be given by the Bement Masonic Lodge No. 365 A.F.&A.M. Burial will be in the Bement Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to God Shelter of Love, 929 N. Union St., Decatur, IL 62522.
Ralph was born Aug. 5, 1928, in Bement, a son of Sidney and Lucille Knowles Morgan. He married Mary Smith on Feb. 14, 1976, in Bement, and she survives of Monticello.
Also surviving are a son, Steve Morgan of Urbana; a daughter, Connie (Louie) Tieman of Springfield, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Charlotte (James) Niedzwiecki of Pooler, Ga.; five grandchildren, Jill, Stevie, Josh, Heather and Crystal; as well as several great-grandchildren.
Ralph is also survived by a brother, Robert (Roseanne) Morgan of Monticello; a sister, Mary (Clark) Waldmier of Decatur; and a sister-in-law, Mary Morgan of Bement.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Ruth Koehne; and a brother, Paul Morgan.
Ralph was a member of the Decatur Aero Commanders Model Makers, AMA Model Airplane Club of Decatur, Bement Masonic Lodge No. 365 A.F.&A.M., and farmed around the Bement, Ivesdale area all his life.
