Jerry Borders

SIBLEY – Jerry Glenn Borders, 61, of Sibley died at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday (April 9, 2013) at the Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System in Danville.

His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 12, at Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City with the Rev. Ed Taylor officiating. Visitation will be for an hour before the service. Burial will be in Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City with military rites by the Lee Lowery American Legion Post 568 in Gibson City.

Mr. Borders was born June 4, 1951, in Paxton, a son of Marvin and Ival Lonell Long Borders.

Surviving are three children, Jill (Steve) Senerchia of Warwick, R.I., and Amanda Borders and Brent Borders, both of Champaign; a brother, Danny (Debbie) Borders of Gibson City; three sisters, Bonnie (Bob) Buhs of Gibson City, Lori (David) Hallatt of Bloomington and Carolyn (Kevin) Hish of Fairbury; five grandchildren, Ella, Eva and Emma Senerchia, and Esther Borders, and Caden York.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jerry was a carpenter for many years. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Gibson City and loved music. Jerry was also a member of the United States Air Force.

Memorials may be made to the Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System in Danville.
