Stuart Graham

TOLONO – William Wesley Stuart Graham, 88, of Tolono died at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday (April 9, 2013).

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Road, Urbana, with the Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Stuart was born April 4, 1925, in Edgar County, the son of John Wilkes and Iris Opal (Swinford) Graham. He married Tommye Sue Vaughn.

He is survived by a son, David S. Graham (Lorainne) of Alta Loma, Calif.; brothers, Herschel A. Graham (Patricia) of Urbana and Z. M. "Tony" Graham (Mary) of Champaign; and granddaughter, Abigail Graham of Discovery Bay, Jamaica. He is preceded in death by wife, Tommye; daughter, Laura April Graham; sisters, Margaret Clair Graham, Laura Elaine Graham Fibisch and Lena Eleanor Graham.

Stuart attended Urbana High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II during the invasion of Normandy. He was a machinist at J. B. Hayes, Urbana, then later at Impact Register in Champaign. He worked at High Energy Physics at the University of Illinois and taught in the Machine Tools Program at Parkland College.

He attended the Free Methodist Church, formerly in Urbana and was involved with the Parkland Retired Breakfast Club.
