MAHOMET – Eleanor Bernice (Johnson) Boller, 84, of Mahomet passed away at 3:13 p.m. Sunday (June 30, 2013) at the Farmer City Nursing Home.

There will be a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at Blair-Owens Funeral Home, 102 E. Dunbar, Mahomet.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson Cemetery in Danville. The Rev. Charlie Strange will officiate.

Eleanor was born April 13, 1929, in Danville, a daughter of Carl and Ivey (Fugate) Johnson. She married Lawrence W. Boller on July 15, 1945, in Danville. He died on Jan. 30, 1995.

Survivors include one daughter, Diane Boller Bailey (Mickey Rusk) of Danville; one son, Lawrence W. (Carol) Boller of Mahomet; four grandchildren, Terry (Terri) Eaglen of Villa Grove, Tina Shaw of Danville, Martha Boller of Mahomet and Linda (Shannon) Boller-Bridges of Mahomet; six great-grandchildren, Brittany Shaw of Florida, Dallas Shaw of Danville, Dillon Shaw of Florida, Cody Eaglen of Tolono, Damion Boller of Mahomet and Finleigh Boller-Bridges of Mahomet; two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Floyd (Ruth) Johnson of Danville; and one special niece, Phyllis Thomas of Danville.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother, Norma Thomas, Unice Mackey, Thelma Miller and Gene Johnson.

She was a member of Lone Oak Church of Christ. She loved playing and entertaining her kids and grandchildren. She also loved music and dancing, gardening, painting and crafts.

Eleanor also enjoyed working as a volunteer at the Champaign County Forest Preserve Botanical Gardens and Museum in Mahomet and earned the award Volunteer of the Year for her efforts.

She was a country girl all of her life and enjoyed a summertime walk in the woods and cuddling by the wood stove in the winter.

Eleanor will be missed by her family and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mary Kay and the staff at the Farmer City Nursing Home for the excellent care rendered to Eleanor during the past three years.
