CHAMPAIGN – Celebration of Life memorial services for Richard Elbert Lore, 60, of Champaign, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25, at Emmanuel Memorial Episcopal Church, 102 N. State St., Champaign. The Rev. Dr. Robert G. Nichols will officiate.
Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm St., Champaign, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Lore passed away at 4:20 p.m. Sunday (July 21, 2013) at the Champaign-Urbana Regional Rehab Center, Savoy.
He was born March 2, 1953, in Urbana; parents, Harry and Irma (Rogers) Lore.
Survivors include his mother of Champaign; three sons, Nicholas Lore, Alexander Lore and Jayson Lore of Champaign; one sister, Ellen Rector of Richland, Wash.; and two brothers, Randy and Tom Lore of El Paso, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Harry E. Lore Jr.
Before his retirement, Mr. Lore was employed for 20 years as traffic manager of Hobbico Inc. in Champaign.
He was a graduate of Champaign Central High School with the Class of 1971, and also was a graduate of the University of Illinois.
Mr. Lore was an Eagle Scout. He was a swim coach for Champaign's Centennial High School and coached various local swim teams.
He was a fan of Illini sports, the Yankees and the Bears. He enjoyed gardening and playing golf.
