CHAMPAIGN – Bruce Lee Millsap, 58, of Champaign passed on to Heaven on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013.
Bruce was born Aug. 29, 1955, in Urbana, to Clarence Ray Millsap and Joanna Frances Millsap. They survive. He married Alicia Neils on Sept. 4, 1982, and they were blessed with 31 years of marriage.
Bruce is survived by Alicia, and their four children, Emily Millsap of San Antonio, Texas, Iain Millsap of Nashville, Tenn., Kathryn Millsap of Evansville, Ind., and Peter Millsap of Champaign. He is also survived by two brothers, Darrell (Anna) Millsap of Kingsport, Tenn., and Mark (Kelley) Millsap of Sadorus; as well as two nieces and three nephews.
Bruce took great pride in his work and was a member and past president of the Painters Local 363. He was also the Safety Instructor for District 48. Bruce volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, where he and his students helped build many homes.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, Bruce and his family would like memorial contributions to be made to the Peter Millsap Scholarship fund in care of First Financial Bank of Champaign or The American Cancer Society.
Visitation services will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 29 at Owens Funeral Home in Champaign.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 708 W. Main St., Urbana.
