URBANA – Bonnie Maxine (Johnson) Wood passed from this world to her Heavenly Home on Sunday (July 6, 2014).
She was born Sept. 30, 1939, to Virgil and Lillie Johnson of Philo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Howard Johnson and Don Johnson.
She married James L. Wood on Jan. 24, 1960, and is survived by brothers Kenneth Johnson, John Johnson, Roy Johnson, husband James L. Wood, daughters Sandy (Wood) Borrelli (Gary Borrelli), Sheryl (Wood) Lancaster (Gary Lancaster), and grandson Steven Borrelli (future daughter-in-law Elizabeth Edwards).
Bonnie was a wonderful wife, mother and a caring person who worked many years for the Ag Econ Department at the University of Illinois.
She was a Navy wife and Mom. She was a strong woman who loved nutrition, exercise, gardening, homemaking and memorizing Scripture. She was a faithful member of Faith Crusaders Church of Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, at Freese Funeral Home, Sidney, with Pastor Marsh Jones officiating. Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Philo. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
