HOMER – Bonnie Knight, 84, of Homer passed away at 9:50 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 11, 2014) at the Champaign County Nursing Home, Urbana.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Freese Funeral Home, 202 W. Main St., Sidney, with Rev. Mike Mack officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Catlin. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Knight was born April 17, 1930, in Danville, a daughter to Bertie L. and Nadine Byerly Lawhead. She married J.A. "Rocky" Knight on Sept. 4, 1949, at Catlin. He preceded her in death on July 5, 2009.

Surviving are two sons, James "Jim" Arlin (Rea) Knight Jr. of St. Joseph and Richard "Rick" Lee (Connie) Knight of Sidney; six grandchildren, Christina Moore, Tonia (Alan) Siuts, James "Jayk" A. Knight III, Brian (Erin) Knight, Hillary (Jeff) Gayler and William Tyler Knight; 15 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Judith (Paul) Cedusky of Winter Haven, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jerry Lee Knight; and a grandson, Richard Lee "Rocky" Knight.

She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 290 for over 50 years, where she was a past president. She was a farm wife and an Illini sports fan.
