Dormilou Bishop

PARIS, Ill. – Dormilou Bishop, 87, of Paris, Ill., formerly of Scottland, Ill., passed away at 5:20 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 18, 2017) at Helia Healthcare in Champaign. She was a devoted homemaker.

She was born on Feb. 3, 1930, in Edgar County, the daughter of the late John and Ruth (Parrish) Camerer. She married Glenn Bishop on May 3, 1947, in Bowling Green, Ky. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2014.

Survivors include a son, Randy Bishop of Champaign; four daughters, Diana (John) Keller and Phyllis (Dr. Dave) Theirl, both of Paris, Elaine (Mike) Garwood of Chrisman and Eileen Lewallen of Urbana; a brother, Drexel Camerer of Decatur; a sister, Dorene Irish of Paris; nine grandchildren, Angela Pate, Lisa (Joe) Heaser, Eric (Trish) Lewsader, Jeff Lewsader, Clay (Stacey) Garwood, Chandra Garwood, Summer (Paul) Barna, Staci (Mike) Allen and Lindsey (Mike) Rush; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren, with two great-great-grandchildren expected in 2017.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Dayton Camerer, and a sister, Dorothy Willis.

Mrs. Bishop was a member of the former "Birthday Club." She enjoyed cooking, fishing, playing cards, wintering in Florida, and especially loved spending time with her family.

For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to Harbor Light Hospice.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at Edgar Cemetery. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris.
