CHAMPAIGN – Vincent "Vince" J. Warren, 82, of Champaign, passed away at 2:38 a.m., Tuesday (April 18, 2017) at his home.
He was born on Oct. 28, 1934, in Mahomet, the son of Dale and Nellie (Furnish) Warren.
He was united in marriage to Linda Morton on Dec. 26, 1955. She will miss him dearly.
He will also be missed by his children, Rick (Teri) Warren of Monticello, Tim Warren of Greentown, Ind., Brian Warren of Broadlands and Kim (Todd) Dalle of Homer; his grandchildren, Matt, Gina, Josh, Jess, Preslee, Bryson, Jonathon, Ron, Kevin, TJ, Bryce and Austin; his great-grandchildren, Ben and Quentin; his brother, Charles (June) Warren of Mahomet; and his sister, Betty Bohlen of Neoga. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Harm Bohlen.
Vince enjoyed bowling, fishing and woodworking. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Carpenter's Union. He retired from doing construction after 30-plus years. Vince was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
A celebration of Vince's life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, at Grandview Cemetery, Champaign. A visitation will be held 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Sunset Champaign-Urbana Chapel, 710 N. Neil St., Champaign. Memorial donations may be given in his name to St. John's Church or Salvation Army.
