CHAMPAIGN – William Dean "Bill" Morrison, 70, of Champaign passed away Tuesday (April 18, 2017) at Carle Hospital.
He was born Jan. 7, 1947, in Anna, the son of Mary Wilberta (Eastman) and William J Morrison. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Rosalie (Stepzinski) Morrison.

He served in the Navy from November 1970 to April 1974 as a PN2 during Vietnam before returning home to help his family. He ran a variety of restaurants in the Midwest, including the Heritage House in Springfield for more than 10 years before transitioning to a career as the University of Illinois food service administrator/unit manager from 2000 to 2010 when he retired. In missing what he loved to do and working in the dining service field, he went back to work part time servicing the suites at the UI football games and other sporting events, of which he was most proud. Most recently, he worked for Busey Bank in Champaign in his retirement.
Bill was an avid card player, businessman and sports enthusiast. He enjoyed boating and deep-sea fishing, being with his family and always made the best use of his sense of humor with anyone he met.
