NAPLES, Fla. – Robert Clinton Jarvis, 82, of Naples, Fla., formerly of Westville, passed away Sunday (July 30, 2017) at his home.

He was born on Dec. 23, 1934, to Clint and Edith (McElwee) Jarvis in Danville.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Luanne (Fogleman); his son, Bradley (Lisa) Jarvis; his daughters, Stacey (Ron) Howe and Darcy (Doug) Vance; his sisters-in-law, Linda Cannon and Millie (Mike) Wilson; his brothers-in-law, John (Dotsy) Fogleman and Ron (Olga) Fogleman; five granddaughters; seven grandsons; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his dear friend, Jim (Mary) Nigra.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jerry Jarvis; and his sons, Steve Jarvis and Jeff Price.

Robert graduated from Westville High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. He retired from TeePak after 38 years.

Robert had been an artist starting at the age of 8, doing pencil drawings, watercolors and oils. His latest artwork was scrimshaw, where he created many pieces that were admired by all who saw them.

Robert's other hobbies included mushroom hunting, fishing, hunting, poker and following the St. Louis Cardinals. For the last 30 years, he became an avid karaoke singer in the style of Johnny Cash. He gained the nickname of "The Boy from Illinois" by his friends in Naples.

A celebration of Robert's life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville, with Pastor Connie Tapp-Bandy officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Westville.
