They come to you
When it's difficult to leave your home to get an X-ray, a new Savoy business will come to you.
MDS-Mobile Diagnostic Services is being launched Monday by Faith Campbell of Danville.
She will bring portable diagnostic equipment to nursing homes, hospices and patient homes, and offer X-rays and electrocardiogram testing.
The equipment is wheeled right to the patient's bedside, and the film is uploaded directly to reading radiologists, she said. Results are forwarded to the ordering physician.
MDS is serving the Champaign-Urbana, Danville and Bloomington-Normal areas.
Campbell, a Ridge Farm native, formerly assisted in neurosurgeries, monitoring the brain, muscles, spine and nerves for the surgeon, she said.
She learned about portable diagnostic services in New Mexico when her husband was stationed there with the Air Force. After he retired, they decided to return to East Central Illinois and open a portable diagnostic service here, she said.
