Where's integrity in state government?
Isn't there a conflict of interest in the fact that House Speaker Mike Madigan is championing a pension bill that will most likely go to litigation while his daughter, Lisa Madigan, is the attorney general who could influence the decision at that point?
I still believe that the answer, instead of making the people who have already paid into their pensions faithfully pay more, is to take pension money from the lawmakers over the years who spent the money elsewhere.
They are the ones that should be feeling the hurt. But, of course, that will never happen. The state will just punish the ones who did nothing wrong and ignore the Illinois Constitution. That's exactly what's happening. What happened to integrity?
