Obamacare changing employment picture

I recently received an e-bulletin from my law firm that informed me that any attempt to control employee hours to keep them below the 30-hour threshold for health insurance coverage eligibility needs to occur before the first of the year, when Obamacare is in full effect.

According to the e-bulletin, it is likely that after the first of the year, it will be illegal discrimination and/or a prohibited employment practice to modify an employee's schedule to avoid Obamacare coverage. I wonder how employers will respond.
