Why tolerate facility that's losing money?

Why tolerate facility that's losing money?

I understand the Champaign County Nursing Home is operating in the red. Why? We are told the census is down so it can't break even. Why is the census down? Could it be because of a bad reputation? If there is a bad reputation, could it be because of poor management?

There are a lot of job openings that either can't be filled because of lack of job applicants or lack of trying to fill them to save money. Why is there a high turnover of employees? Why don't qualified people want to work at this facility?

Could the lack of employees mean that people living at the nursing home don't get the quality care they deserve? Any way you look at it, the buck stops with those we pay to run it. How long would a private company put up with one of their facilities losing money?
