Willie Summerville taught so much

Willie Summerville taught so much

What a wonderful man Willie T. Summerville was. He taught me choir at Brookens Junior High the two years I was a student there, which were 1972 and 1973.

He was such a caring and loving person. And besides teaching us choir, he taught us all to get along with each other, no matter what race or differences we had.

He taught us that love is love, kindness is so much better than being rude or mean to each other. He made a huge difference in my life.

Besides his fantastic talents of teaching the choir at Brookens, he taught us all how to love and be loved by all people. I still refer back to some of the things he taught us about how to live our lives to their fullest and how to stay happy no matter how hard life might get for us at times.

He believed in God with all of his heart and soul.

It will be a long time before we all get used to him being gone. But we all must remember that he is not gone, he was called home, and is now again with his loving wife, Valerian.

We will all be with him again someday too. For now, we have to find comfort in knowing that he is up in heaven singing with the other saints! God bless you, Mr. Summerville. Rest in peace!
