Letter to the Editor | Bush served his family, nation well

Letter to the Editor | Bush served his family, nation well

On Nov. 30, President George H.W. Bush died.

What a great man he was. He served his country as a U.S. Navy fighter pilot, he married his beloved Barbara, they had children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

That barely scratches the surface of a successful life. He was vice president under President Ronald Reagan for eight years, and then he was elected this country's 41st president.

I doubt he truly knew how very loved he and his Barbara were by the American people. They both brought a certain elegance and class to the White House and to America.

I am grateful to President Bush for sharing such a big part of his life with the American people as well as for guiding and leading us as a country with a loving Christian heart.

He has now passed from this life into heaven and is reunited with Barbara and beloved daughter Robin. He is gone but will never be forgotten. Rest well, Mr. President.
