Letter to the Editor | Climate scientist gives good advice

Ahead of Earth Day, the Urbana Free Library displayed several dozen books about issues related to climate change.

Only one of those books was written by a climate scientist, and because of this, deserves special attention.

"Being the Change — Live Well and Spark a Climate Revolution" was written by Peter Kalmus. The author describes how he and his family have reduced their carbon footprint to a tenth of the average American family.

Using non-technical language, Kalmus discusses the greenhouse gasses and how they affect our lives.

He also discusses the way our choices of what we eat and how we travel affect the climate.

If you have grandchildren and beloved grandnieces and nephews, please read this book.
