Letter to the Editor | Public servants unfairly targeted

Henry Seiter's rant in The News-Gazette's Good Friday edition made me think that Republican Sen. Joseph McCarthy of Wisconsin had been resurrected.

I'm speaking of the same Republican who had been censured by the U.S. Senate on Dec. 2, 1954, by a vote of 67-22, for being unethical in overzealous accusations of people being communists with little or no evidence.

Seiter does not accuse those he doesn't agree with of being communists, but of being fascists. You realize, Henry, that you are accusing some people with longstanding good reputations of wrongdoing.

People like Comey, McCabe, Yates, Brennan and Clapper have served our country well in law enforcement and other capacities, but you are putting them on a par with dictators like Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un.

Your next wild conspiracy rant is against CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS and PBS, calling them leftist news organizations. Wow! These are longstanding, objective news networks long known for truth in broadcasting.

My guess is that Seiter watches Fox exclusively, and my suggestion is at least watch a little more of Chris Wallace and a little less of Sean Hannity.

Finally, Seiter "bounces around" words like "deep-state." Maybe he could define with clarity and facts what it means. Seiter also mentions the two-tiered, double-standard justice system that favors the privileged establishment elite and then naming Hillary Clinton as one of the benefactors. Could Donald J. Trump, Steve Mnuchin and Wilbur Roth also be classed as benefactors?
