How accurate are they? I have to take one for my job and I am kind of nervous. It seems to me that they must not be very good so I could get a bad score randomly. After taking some of these personality tests [2], that is my impression. Does anyone have some relevant knowledge? I'm sure its pretty silly to worry, but I do need the promotion.
I remember one question in
I remember one question in particular that I was asked on one of these "tests," which I took during an interview process:
"Do you believe that most politicians are honest?"
The implication being that I was supposed to say "yes." It was hard not to burst out laughing. I guess they only wanted the most gullible of gullible saps working at that business, maybe since they're easier to screw over. Or, at least, they wanted the people who were so submissive, and willing to throw aside honesty and common sense for "the good of the company"...quite Orwellian.
And here's the best part...the job in question was a loss prevention officer! Skepticism of people's intentions shouldn't only be encouraged for that job, it should be a requirement! If you ran a store, would you want a loss prevention officer who was gullible enough to think that most politicians are honest? I can see it now...
"Sir, you can't leave out the side exit with that TV, you haven't paid for it."
"I left my wallet at home. Is it fine if I bring the TV home, grab my wallet, and then come back and pay?"
"I don't see why not!"
I have taken some of these
I have taken some of these tests before, and unfortunately Penteller is right on the money.
Honesty, fairness, and independent thinking are your worst enemies when taking these tests! They use these tests to weed out employees who might actually think for themselves every once in a while, and who might actually do the right thing even if it's not "company policy." We can't have that!
In listening to an interview
In listening to an interview of the man who designed these tests, it revealed to me the inherent perversion these tests create. In that honesty and truths are no longer relevant in today’s world as you must be “one of the team”, never questioning authority to get and hold a job in today’s “Bright Sided” world. Tests that help assure a world of drone lemmings, where only positive thoughts, sunny dispositions and unquestioning fidelity to the herd with no critical thinking of possible downsides are allowed.
A world in which people no longer think critically and believe all is well in what is done to us each day, by powers implementing plans of multi-generational design..
One of the questions on these tests is: “do you belive/think that most people cheat on their tax returns”? The logical and truthful answer is “yes”, as few people ever report the thousand dollars mom and dad gave them for a down payment, the expensive raffle winning at the school event, the scratch-off from the gas station, a gift card from a relative, the profit on the sale of a personal item, etc, etc.
However if you do answer yes to this, you are classified as “Un-trustworthy”.
The solution? Think LaLaLand. Think of the world as being bright and sunny, where everyone is truthful and honest and kind, where all businesses are benevolent employers who look out for your best interest and reward you richly for every contribution you make and where all your coworkers are the kindest and most giving people you have every met. In short Prozac World!
Think that, answer accordingly and you will score one of the highest scores they have ever seen.
just eat a small chocolate
just eat a small chocolate candy bar before the test starts.
