CHAMPAIGN — Free meals and snacks for kids and teens who need them will be available throughout the summer at the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District.
The summer food service program went into effect Wednesday and will run through Aug. 21.
All meals and snacks are free to kids ages 1 through 18, no matter where they live or what their income level, according to the health district.
Just come to the health district building at 201 W. Kenyon Road, C, when meals are being served:
Breakfast: 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Snack: 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Lunch: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The health district plans to offer games, arts and crafts activities during the meal times with the most participation, according to nutritionist Charlotte Miles.
