Coach of the year: Scott Davis, Champaign Central
Why: Davis, also the Maroons' boys' basketball coach, led Central to its third consecutive sectional championship in dramatic fashion, winning a tiebreaker against rival Centennial. The Maroons won while dealing with a plethora of injuries. No. 1 singles player Austin Aten finished third while serving underhanded because of a shoulder injury and Ryan Smith was less than 100 percent.

Season highlight: "Amazing perseverance, due to the fact that the team was able to overcome key injuries to win a sectional and finish a strong second at the Big 12 Tournament."
About Coach Davis: "It's been really great playing for him. He's been a really big part in (my career). He's just a relaxed, laid-back guy. He makes tennis really fun for us. He doesn't even seem like a coach, more like a close friend. It's a lot less stressful out there for us on the court with him there." — Austin Aten
