CHAMPAIGN — One of the five applicants for a soon-to-be vacant Champaign City Council seat has withdrawn.
Lake Land College instructor Dustin Heuerman withdrew, leaving four candidates seeking the seat: Tony Pomonis, Lynn Anderson, Vic McIntosh and Barbara Kenny-Langendorf.
The vacancy takes effect on June 15, when Kyle Harrison resigns from the council.
Harrison is moving to a home outside of District 3.
The four candidates will make a public statement at Tuesday’s Champaign City Council study session. An appointment is expected to be made on June 19.
The appointment will fill the seat until a new person is elected in the April 2013 election.
