CHAMPAIGN — The administrator expected to be The High School of St. Thomas More’s next principal has decided to keep his current job in the Mahomet-Seymour School District.
St. Thomas More’s board of education announced earlier this month that Jeff Starwalt would be the school’s next principal.
However, the board sent a letter Tuesday saying Starwalt had decided to remain at Mahomet-Seymour.
The school’s board of education and pastor’s board “will continue to work together to name an interim principal in the near future and will resume a nationwide search for a permanent principal later this fall.”
“While we were delighted that Mr. Starwalt initially accepted our offer to lead The High School of Saint Thomas More, we wish him well with his decision, and we are eager to resume our search for the most qualified person to lead our school in the coming years,” said Larry De Brock, president of school’s board of trustees, in the letter.
