A West Frankfort man was hospitalized, and arrested for DUI, after a single-car crash Thursday night on Interstate 57.
According to state police, Jason C. Allen, 33, of West Frankfort was driving south on I-57 about 9:15 p.m., about 6 miles south of the Monticello Road exit, when he swerved hard to the left. The car spun out of control, went into the median and began rolling over, coming to rest several hundred feet south on its wheels.
Allen had to be extricated from the car and was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was listed in fair condition Friday morning at the hospital.
He was arrested for DUI at the hospital. He also was arrested for illegal transportation of alcohol, having an expired registration sticker and improper lane usage while at the hospital.
WHY do people drink and drive?
alcohol makes them stupid, if they weren't morons to begin with.
This is how all DUI crashes should be - one car. Roll over or hit a tree before you plow into and kill some innocent person. It is 100% preventable and there is no excuse for it.
