CHAMPAIGN — Starting Friday, Staley Road will be closed for several weeks to all through traffic between Bradley Avenue and Bloomington Road to allow the start of the second stage of the Staley Road improvement project.
Local traffic will have access to residences and businesses in that area. A marked detour route will be in place to direct traffic around the project. The second stage of construction is expected to last six weeks.
The city reports the first stage of the Staley Road project is substantially complete and will be reopened to traffic until the completion of stage two.
The section will then get an asphalt overlay and permanent pavement markings.
In Urbana, Willow Road closed this week and is expected to be closed for six to eight weeks from Anthony Drive north to 2310 N. Willow Road for road construction.
