The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for East Central Illinois, in effect until 7 p.m. Wednesday.
High temperatures will be around 100 degrees, and heat index readings will make it feel like 105 degrees and higher in places. Up in the Chicago area, temperatures could soar up to 102 degrees with heat index values of 110 degrees.
Temperatures will remain in the 90s for most of the next week.
