URBANA — A Champaign man has been criminally charged with sexually assaulting a teen in his home Sunday afternoon.
A Champaign police report said an 18-year-old Champaign woman had gone to a friend's house in the 200 block of West Bradley Avenue about 2 p.m. to braid the friend's sister's hair.
When she arrived, a man later identified as Xavier Hill, 24, opened the door wearing only a towel around his waist.
The report said Hill told the woman her friend was not there but she could wait for him.
When she told him she didn't want to wait, he allegedly grabbed her by the wrist, pulled her into the house and dragged her into a bedroom.
The report said the woman tried to get off the bed and was kicking and screaming for him to stop, but he allegedly held both hands over her head while removing her shorts and underwear and then sexually assaulted her.
The woman went right home and told her parents what happened. She was treated at Provena Covenant Medical Center.
Hill, who also listed an address in Chicago, was arrested Sunday afternoon and arraigned Monday on two counts of criminal sexual assault. If convicted of those, he could be sentenced to between four and 30 years in prison.
Hill is due back in court Aug. 28. He was being held in the county jail Tuesday on a total of $160,000 bond. Court records show he has a 2011 theft conviction in Champaign County for which he received probation. The state is taking steps to revoke that.
