Royal asks residents to cut water use

ROYAL — The village is asking residents to restrict their water use.

The village recently posted signs asking for the voluntary restriction, saying that Royal's water plant is approaching its maximum capacity of 70,000 gallons per day.

Residents are being asked to limit outside water use, postpone washing vehicles, take showers instead of baths, limit shower durations and install water saving devices on faucets.

The village anticipates the water restriction lasting until late summer.
