TUSCOLA — A 79-year-old woman was listed in good condition after a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 57 near Tuscola.
According to state police, Barbara A. Wills, no address given, 79, was driving north on I-57 at 9:44 a.m. when she passed a semitrailer truck.
Her car hit a pickup truck doing pavement striping, driven by Carlos G. Martinez, 52.
Wills and Martinez were taken to Carle Hospital in Urbana. Martinez was treated and released. Wills was listed in good condition.
Wills was ticketed for a "Scott's Law" violation: failure to yield to an authorized emergency vehicle.
.....because we all know that "a pickup truck doing pavement striping" is "an authorized emergency vehicle."

That's a little confusing. It doesn't even mention that highway workers are included. I had to look it up.

it's a pretty stiff fine for doing that, have to see how the State's Attorney handles this one..
Just furthers my case against seniors having licenses. They are typically impeding traffic, worried about their oxygen tank levels, doing 20 in a 55... But yet the State of Illinois promotes this reckless attitude by... Yep you heard it! Giving away license... FREE OF CHARGE??? Yuppers!!

Ever stand in line waiting to take the vision test while some 70, 80 or 90ish person is trying to take the same vision test and hear...

"Could it possibly be an A Mr. Wilson?"
"Please look one more time Mr. Wilson, are you absolutely sure that it's not an A ?"
that would be considered gross negligence, on behalf of the tester, AND whoever witnessed it.
