The head of Worden Martin Inc. said there are no plans to move its car dealerships out of Savoy, as plans are being made to move its Champaign location to the northern part of the city.
The Champaign dealerships, Ford City and Worden Martin GMC, currently sit on South Neil Street, but the owners want to move to a spot northeast of the I-74 and Prospect Avenue interchange to get more space.
However, Worden Martin President and CEO Charlie Shapland said there are no plans at this time to move the Illini Nissan and Subaru locations that are in Savoy out of the village.
Shapland said there have, however, been discussions of straightening out Woodfield Drive behind the dealerships to create more space for the organization.

The Champaign City Council gave preliminary approval last month to an agreement that would allow Ford City and Worden Martin GMC to move to the north side of Champaign.
