Cornjerker Classic. JON JONES scored four goals as tourney champ Blue Ridge beat Georgetown-Ridge Farm 8-0. IAN RIGGS and AARON KOPP scored in a 2-0 win against Watseka. Runner-up Hoopeston Area beat G-RF 7-1 (Elijah Yates had two goals) and Olympia 2-0 behind Brennan Crose's goal and assist and Trey Anderson's sixth shutout of the season.
Uni High 5, Salt Fork 1. Peter Ivanov scored twice and Tarik Koric had two assists and a goal for the Illineks (10-0-1).
Normal Community 5, Danville 0. Cameron Griffin had six saves in the loss.
Judah Christian 1, Meridian 0. Alec Henderson scored and two goalies pitched a shutout for the Tribe.
Fisher/GCMS 9, Mount Pulaski 0. Hunter Lowry had three goals and four assists, and David Ricks added two goals.
At Rockford. Centennial went 2-0, beating Hampshire 4-0 behind Cian Wingo (goal, assist) and Andy Drackley (fifth shutout of the season) and Olympia 1-0 on Kevin Hernandez's goal and three saves from Drackley.
At Morton. Miguel Fierro scored twice as Urbana beat Batavia 2-1 in the third-place match at the Morton tournament. Jonathan Lukusa had a goal and an assist in a shootout loss to Rochester in the semifinals.
St. Thomas More 8, Oakwood 1. Kyler Jones' first-half hat trick equaled his goal total for the first 11 matches of the season as the Sabers (10-2) took control early. Junior captain Colin Kelley scored his first career goal in the win.
At Edwardsville. Kain Shirley finished in 16:52 as Champaign Central placed fourth at the 5K event. Hannah Wright was 13th for Central's fifth-place girls' team.
At Olney. Danville freshman MERCEDES ELLIOTT delivered her first high school win at the 26-team meet. In the boys' race, Danville's JOHNNY LEVERENZ was third and CALEB HUMMER was fifth.
A-L/A-H 48, Crossroads 0. TYLER SCHURING passed for 109 yards and two touchdowns and Austin Dean worked wonders on offense (116 yards rushing, two TDs) and defense (nine tackles, interception) to spark the Knights.
LeRoy Invitational. Mahomet-Seymour's girls' team shot a 72 to win the scramble format.
Eisenhower Invitational. JANICE CHOO shot a 102 to lead last-place Champaign Central.
Paris Invitational. ANDY BOTT shot a 73 to finish second — losing in a playoff — to help Bismarck-Henning to third place. DAVID WARREN (78) finished eighth.
In swimming & diving
Charger Invite. Danville's KRISTIN VERKLER won the 100-yard butterfly and was second in the 200 freestyle as the Vikings placed eighth at the 13-school meet. Urbana's GABI RAJIC won the 50-yard free and was second in the100 backstroke as the Tigers finished ninth.
At Bloomington. Centennial's ALLISON HANSEN won the No. 1 singles title and teamed with freshman Lauren Neitzel to take fourth at No. 1 doubles as the Chargers placed seventh.
At Farmer City. Gabby Pearl had 19 kills and seven blocks, Emily Zelhart had 46 assists and Chandler Morrow had 42 digs as Blue Ridge went 4-0 to win its own tournament.
At Effingham. LIZZY BARNARD had 48 kills, AUTUMN MEYER 80 digs and AMBER MEYER 114 assists as Tri-County went 5-0 to win the St. Anthony tournament.
At Pana. Rachel Wells was named all-tournament as Danville First Baptist finished third at the First Baptist Christian Academy tournament.
