CHAMPAIGN — The Champaign school district will dedicate its newest elementary and its superintendent will dine with community members at an upcoming event.
The Carrie Busey Elementary will be dedicated at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 11. The evening will also feature tours of the school and a 6 p.m. Supper with the Superintendent.
The school is at 304 Prairie Rose Lane, Savoy.
The dinner, which will give parents and others a chance to talk with Superintendent Judy Wiegand, will feature a light supper and live music by Central High School students.
School district spokeswoman Stephanie Stuart said the event is a way for community members and parents to talk with Wiegand in an informal setting.
"It's a time for people to come see the brand-new school but also get to know the administrators a little better," Stuart said.
Wiegand began the Supper with the Superintendent events last year.
