CHAMPAIGN — Empty Arms, a grief support network to help with infant loss, will hold its annual remembrance ceremony for parents, grandparents, families and friends wishing to honor children who have died.
The ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. Oct. 13 at Windsor Road Christian Church, 2501 W. Windsor Road, C.
Empty Arms was established by two local mothers, Becky Ames and Meghan Drewes, both of whom experienced the loss of an infant. They wanted to provide compassion and understanding to others experiencing loss through miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death.
The annual ceremony seeks to help families honor and keep the memories of their children alive in their hearts, Ames said.
Names of each lost child are displayed at the ceremony, and parents can also provide pictures of their children, too, she said.
Those who want to participate are asked to email their children's names and pictures if they want them included to firstname.lastname@example.org .
Anyone with questions can call Ames at 390-7418.
