CHAMPAIGN – Linda (Granny) Chapman, 70, of Champaign passed away at 10:10 p.m. Friday (Oct. 12, 2012) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
She was born March 30, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Frank Woebkenberg and Lucille (Blevens) Woebkenberg.
Surviving are her life partner of 23 years, Mark Brown; three sons, Curt (Terri) Chapman of Kewanee, Michael (Teri) Chapman of Champaign and Daniel (Dawn) of Rantoul; one daughter, Terri Chapman of Rantoul; two stepsons, Mark (Vicki) Brown of Champaign and Dale Brown of Morton; and two stepdaughters, Terri (Ron) Jones of Villa Grove and Lisa Ferris of Villa Grove; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents and one son, Ronald Lee Chapman.
Linda retired from Rantoul Products, Rantoul, in 2001.
Granny's hobbies included being a mother, a grandmother, Facebook, Farmville and spending time with family and friends.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St., Champaign. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
