As I get closer to bringing home new cookware , my sister asked me what I'd do with the old stuff.
I'm planning on donating most of it (except the pot lid that has fallen apart - no reason to donate that) but save a pot or two for when I get a wild idea to cook something inedible. (At this point, her general response was, "inedible?!")
After all, we have an old slow cooker on a shelf in our basement for the specific purpose of stripping paint off metal hardware (not that we've used it - the old hardware in our home is thankfully paint-free). After explaining that, my sister admitted that she has an old slow cooker set aside for cooking venison.
So, before I load a box for Goodwill or the Salvation Army, I'm wondering - do any of you use old pots, pans or slow cookers for specific, non-food purposes?
